ISO 45001 certification requirement and process

ISO 45001 certification is the new international standard that is designed for occupational health and safety management systems. This standard provides a set of guidelines for organizations to improve employee health, safety, reduce workplace accidental risks and create a better and secure working condition.

ISO 45001:2018 is the improved and updated replacement to OHSAS 18001 and is directly aligned with the 2015 versions of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Whether you are large scale company or small scale business these international standard guidelines will be applicable to every type of organisation regardless of its size, nature and type.

ISO 450001 process:

1.    Do an initial assessment to determine if the mandatory requirements of the standard are being met.
2.    Make a second assessment to determine the effectiveness of the system, and try to confirm that the management system is implemented and operational.
3.    Certification audit will be conducted to check any corrective actions needed in 1 & 2 steps. After a successful audit certification will be recommended.
4.    An impartial panel will review all your documents and important organisation’s files and the certification decision will be made.
5.    After these four successful steps certificate will be issued to your organisation. This certification will be valid only for three years and a mandatory audit will be conducted annually.

This may sound an easy process, but the reality is quite a different, implementation of the system and preparing documents is a very complicated process and certification consultancy provides complete assistance in this area.
